Practice Policies
Guidelines for the FINTASTICS Swim Team members:
●All swimmers must do their best to attend practices, arriving on time. If, for any reason, a swimmer will miss a practice or meet, the swimmer must let the Coach know as soon as possible.
●All swimmers will adhere to the Fox Point Pool Rules during regular practice and at home meets. They will also exhibit good sportsmanship while representing the FINTASTICS at away events.
●All swimmers will be respectful of coaches, team managers, and officials.
●All swimmers will conduct themselves in a sportsman-like manner, showing respect and courtesy to their teammates and opponents.
All 8 and under swimmers must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during all practices. 8 and under swimmers CAN NOT be dropped off at the pool for their practices.
Guidelines for the Parents of the FINTASTICS Swim Team members:
- Be knowledgeable of the sport.
- Remember that children are involved in organized sports for their enjoyment and not yours.
- Be supportive. Be sure your swimmer attends practices on time.
- Teach your child that hard work and an honest effort are often more important than a victory.
- Help your child work toward skill improvement and good sportsmanship at every meet. Your child will then be a winner, even in defeat.
- Do not ridicule or yell at your child for making a mistake or losing a heat. Show your child positive reinforcement.
- Encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all swimmers, coaches and officials at every practice or meet.
- Recognize the value of volunteer coaches and officials and give them their due respect.
- Ask your child to treat teammates, opposing swimmers, coaches, fans and officials with respect.
- Encourage communication between the coach and parent.
All swimmers under age 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all swim meets.
